Hospice FAQ's

Who can benefit from hospice care?

Any person diagnosed by a physician with a life-limiting medical condition can benefit from our hospice care and support.

At Seven Oaks, patients and families benefit from services provided by the traditional medical team of physician and nurses as well as practical assistance from social workers, spiritual and bereavement counselors, and specially trained community volunteers.

Hospice care is highly personalized care for an individual faced with a life-limiting medical condition. Hospice focuses on providing comfort, rather than cure, with particular emphasis on alleviating pain, controlling disease symptoms, and enabling the individual to live with dignity, as fully and independently as possible.

Care is provided by a well trained team of professionals who care for the "whole patient" – the patient’s physical, emotional, social and spiritual well-being — and offer assistance and support to his or her family.

Hospice care can be provided in many different places, including in your own private home, in a personal care home, assisted living facility, skilled nursing facility, or in other facilities.

Hospice care and services are covered by Medicare, Medicaid, and most private insurance.
